She's been with many of the top outlets across the globe. It was a long time covering sports for The Washington Post, including football, tennis, and basketball. In 2004 Nichols was transferred to ESPN for a nine-year run in which she earned two Emmy Awards and appeared on several of the network's top frequented shows such as SportsCenter and NFL Countdown. Additionally, she worked as a correspondent for Monday Night Football on the network. Then she moved on to CNN as well as Turner Sports. Unguarded: Rachel Nichols hosted her own show on CNN International. It had over 1 billion viewers across the world. Nichols also reported on behalf of TNT on NBA broadcasts during the playoffs and broadcasts of the All-Star games. Alongside reporting for TBS and TNT, she also reported on broadcasts of golf and baseball as well as the Final Four on CBS. marking only the second occasion in the award's 42 year tradition that a woman has been nominated amongst the more than 200 nominations.
